Household Quarantine Information Update from Southwestern Public Health
On December 14, Southwestern Public issued updated instructions for household members of symptomatic people awaiting COVID-19 test results. Previously, asymptomatic individuals could continue to attend work or school even if a household member were ill. Effective Dec 14, Southwestern Public Health advises the following:
• Get tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms, even if mild.
• Self-isolate at home while you wait for your COVID-19 test results.
• Self-isolate at home if you live with a symptomatic individual waiting for test results.
o If negative, discontinue self-isolation; if positive, continue isolating as directed by public health.
• If an individual is sick and chooses to not get tested, all household members are advised to self-isolate for at least 14 days.
